Vans Warped Tour partners with Waves for Water for Hurricane Sandy Relief Day
In the wake of Hurricane Sandy’s devastating effects on the Northeast this past fall, the VANS WARPED TOUR will continue its tradition of service and environmental responsibility by partnering with Waves For Water (www.wavesforwater.org)–a non-profit organization founded by former professional surfer Jon Rose and their Hurricane Sandy Relief Initiative–for the forthcoming Eco Day.
On Monday, July 8 hundreds of volunteers and artists from the 2013 VANS WARPED TOUR including Memphis May Fire, Echosmith, Sleeping With Sirens, Bring Me The Horizon, We Came As Romans, Chiodos, Upon a Burning Body, Architects U.K., Anarbor, I See Stars, William Beckett, The Chariot, Young London and many more will gather at Lavallette Bay Park in Lavallette, New Jersey. The group will restore two-and-a-half bay front blocks that suffered extensive flooding and residual storm damage from Sandy. The group will restore the park and community green space by cleaning up storm debris and re-planting the entire bay area to help prevent erosion and protect the landscape from future natural disasters.
VANS WARPED TOUR artists will work alongside Waves for Water, the Town of Lavallette, the Lavallette Volunteer Fire Department and other community members to assist in restoring this valuable green space for the community to enjoy and beautify the park. Two local eateries that were severely damaged in the wake of Sandy will provide breakfast and lunch for the volunteers. Breakfast will be provided by Bakin Bagels of Ortley Beach, NJ (https://www.facebook.com/
