Def Leppard / Journey – Coors Field – Denver, CO
A few songs into Def Leppard‘s show at Coors Field on Sunday, frontman Joe Elliot announced “Here it is, the last night of our stadium tour and it’s happening in Denver!” The crowd clapped and cheered. And then resumed what would essentially be a sing-along as the band started into the next anthem on their set list.
Def Leppard clearly know what their audience wants. Which might explain why they’re still filling stadiums over four decades since releasing their first album. “Foolin’,” “Rock of Ages,” “Love Bites” and “Hysteria.” The band played them all. Complete with flashing lights, pillars of fog shooting into the air and a level of musicianship that demonstrates why they continue to have the staying power that they do.
The band fittingly closed out the show by “pouring some sugar” on the crowd with one of their biggest hits and a hearty thank you to everyone who came out. Check out our photos from the night (including some of opener Journey) below:
