The National – Red Rocks Amphitheatre – Morrison, CO
“Pretty sure is snowed the last time we were here” announced The National‘s Aaron Dressner as they started into their show at Red Rocks Monday night. Playing outdoor venues can be tricky business. But this time around the weather was sublime, a near-full moon perched itself above the illuminated rocks and a band who relish in details couldn’t help but note just how “majestic” is all was.
The National have been doing their thing for a while, so it was no surprise they could put together a unique 23 song set list for the Colorado crowd. The mix pulled from a variety of albums and wasn’t short on fan favorites. A few highlight’s included “Mistaken for Strangers,” “I Need My Girl,” “Wasp Nest” and “Graceless.” The lovely Lucy Dacus (who opened the show) also joined them for a rendition of “Rylan.” Check out our photos from the evening below:
