Gary Numan – Gothic Theatre – Denver, CO
It might have been a cold and drizzly night in Denver Wednesday, but that didn’t stop a long line from forming outside the Gothic Theatre. Gary Numan was making good on his promise to return to Denver after a COVID-related cancellation nearly a year ago. And several blocks worth of chilly fans were clearly ready for the show.
This isn’t the first time I’ve seen Numan perform, and I hope it isn’t the last. His shows are electric. Full of energy, catchy beats and flashing strobes. The Denver show was on the tail end of a tour supporting his nineteenth studio album, Intruder, and the title track was first on his set list. From there it was a mix of old and new that included “Love Hurt Bleed,” “Pure,” “Down in the Park” and of course, “Cars.”
