Live Review: Sleigh Bells Keep the Energy High at Summit Music Hall

Alexis Krauss is a moving target. The Sleigh Bell‘s vocalist is so energetic on stage that it’s difficult to get a lock on her, even with the fastest of cameras. The minute she appears in the frame, she quickly vanishes – maybe onto another side of the stage or maybe into the crowd. Denver’s Summit Music Hall was the latest stop for the Brooklyn-based noise-pop band and the Krauss was out in full force. Proving exactly why they’ve gained a reputation for having one of the funnest and most engaging acts around.
Sleigh Bells’ shows are also known for being quick and to the point. Sometimes clocking in at under 45 minutes. This time around they went for more than an hour with a 17 songs setlist. They started things off with “Badly” from their latest album, Bunky Becky Birthday Boy, before heading straight into what was clearly a crowd favorite of the night, “Infinity Guitars.” The remainder was a mix of old and new and included songs like “Riot Rhythm,” “Kids,” “I Can Only Stare” and “Pulse Drips Quiet.”
