King Diamond and Overkill Keep it Loud and Menacing at Mission Ballroom
I’m always a little sad when Halloween is over. But as luck would have it, a dark and spooky evening was in the cards a few weeks later at Denver’s Mission Ballroom when King Diamond brought his Saint Lucifer’s Hospital Tour to town. Against the backdrop of an 1920’s hospital/asylum, the black metal veteran clutched his makeshift bone cross mic and made his way through many an octave and macabre lyric. As always, the stage show was impeccable. Full of ominous details, costumed extras, props and of course – a copious amount of fog. A few of the highlights of the evening included “A Mansion of Darkness,” “Welcome Home,” “Masquerade of Madness” and “Abigail.”
