Jacob Cade releases video for single “What’s Your Problem?!”
Jacob Cade: “This is a visualizer video for my first single off The Hunger EP called “What’s Your Problem?!” which I wrote with my friend Rachel Bolan from Skid Row.”
“I recorded my first record when I was 12,” says Jacob. “We did that in my drummer’s basement. It got me into learning how to write my own songs for the first time. While constantly composing and rehearsing, I vowed early to better my understanding of how to run a band, logistics, costs and such. We’d play two or three shows a week getting experience. I taught myself to play after my dad showed me three or four chords, I figured it out myself by watching videos of my favorite players. Jimmy Page made me want to pick up a guitar but the rocker who made me want to play and write a certain way was Slash. Those Guns N’ Roses records and his work with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators changed my life forever. I was mesmerized by his look, stance and swagger. As an overall complete entertainer, Michael Jackson has had a huge influence on me. I paid attention to his early years. ‘Billie Jean’ and the moon walk – that shifted my entire musical consciousness. I wanted to dress, move, look, and sing like MJ until I got exposed to rock guitar. My on-stage persona is evolving into a mixture of both disciplines.”
