First City Festival takes place over two days on August 24th and 25th. The coastal views of beautiful Monterey, California will provide the perfect backdrop for this unique event. Situated on the same hallowed grounds as the legendary, iconic Monterey Pop Festival, the First City Festival promises to provide a unique event and an experience you’ll never forget.

The Monterey Pop Festival is considered to be the first ever festival concert and the initial one was certainly something to remember. Performances by such diverse legends as Jimi Hendrix, who famously burned his guitar there, Otis Redding, The Who, Janis Joplin and The Grateful Dead solidified it’s place in history as one of the premiere, can’t miss shows in the world. The First City Festival looks to embody that spirit and notch it’s own spot in history. The inaugural lineup this year includes many indie and electronica artists that are sure to bring the partying fans a soundtrack they’ll never forget. Artists such as Modest Mouse, MGMT, Passion Pit and Neko Case provide an eclectic lineup that will fill the ocean air with the sounds of this generation.

First City Festival is named after Monterey’s claim as the official “first capital” of California. A full carnival with rides and games will also be available to guests.

First City Festival is presented by Goldenvoice, who also produces Coachella, Stagecoach and a number of other tremendous events. This event will be ran with class and the know how that it takes to be successful.
