Live Review: A Post Rock Easter – Mogwai at The Ogden Theater

Nothing says Easter like a rock show. Or maybe not. But for the crowd that packed themselves into Denver’s Ogden Theater Sunday night, “church” was in session.

You might say that seeing Mogwai is a transcendent experience. The Scottish band have been at it for a while – 30 years to be exact. Which might explain why the complexity and layers that define their music come off as effortless. Sunday’s set list mostly featured tracks from their latest album, The Bad Fire. A foggy and engaging light show accompanied the band as they made their way through songs like “God Gets You Back,” “Fanzine Made of Flesh,” “How to Be a Werewolf” and “Lion Rumpus.” Check out our photos from the night below:
