Live Review: Pulp Play Their First Colorado Show

Pulp played their first Colorado show at Red Rocks and of course it rained. And not just a sprinkle – more like a steady stream that goes through even the best ponchos and rain jackets. But if there’s ever been a frontman built for a soaked stage, it’s Jarvis Cocker. “This makes us feel right at home,” he said shortly after taking the stage.

The set list was a dream for longtime fans and included nearly 20 songs that pulled from a variety of albums. The crowd were immediately on their feet for “Sorted for E’s & Wizz” and the new “Spike Island” from their latest 2025 release, More. When the first notes of “Common People” hit, the entire crowd started jumping and singing along. It might have been miserable weather, but that didn’t appear to dampen the joy.

Pulp’s light show is also worth mentioning. Each song came with it’s own bright palette, such as flickering gold for “Disco 2000” and the deep reds of “This is Hardcore.” There was even a full-blown digital sun that “rose” during “Sunrise”. The band wrapped things up with a colorful five-song encore that included “The Fear,” “Lipgloss” and fittingly, “Sunset”. Check out our photos below:
