Black Sabbath announce new album!

BS2013Yes, you read the headline correctly; Black Sabbath are indeed putting out a new album together. This will be the first new studio album from the band in 18 years. It will also be the first studio album with most of the original line-up playing together, which hasn’t happened for a good 34 years or so. The line-up will consist of Ozzy Osbourne on vocals, Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass, and Brad Wilk (from Rage Against the Machine) on drums, who joined them at their recording sessions. The album is going to be called “13” and will be released in June, though an exact date has not been announced as of yet. “13” will be released on the band’s original label, Vertigo, worldwide, and Vertigo/Reprise in the U.S. The band has also lined up some tour dates to prepare the world for their new opus. I’m sure plenty more tour dates will be announced within the coming months, but their itinerary so far is as follows:

4/20 – Auckland, New Zealand @ Vector Arena
4/22 – Auckland, New Zealand @ Vector Arena
4/25 – Brisbane, Australia @ Entertainment Centre
4/27 – Sydney, Australia @ All Phones Arena
4/29 – Melbourne, Australia @ Rod Laver Arena
5/1 – Melbourne, Australia @ Rod Laver Arena
5/4 – Perth, Australia @ Perth Arena
5/12 – Tokyo, Japan @ Ozzfest – Makuhari Messe
