Paramore’s Self-Titled Tour At Bridgestone Arena In Nashville, TN

Paramore-Nashville-2013-2Last Tuesday, the rocking Tennessee natives, Paramore, brought their “Self-Titled Tour” to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. “The Self-Titled Tour” is Paramore’s biggest headlining tour to date. With a total of 116 shows, spanning all across the globe, this world tour will end in the Caribbean on the “PARAHOY! Cruise” aboard the Norwegian Pearl in March 2014. This is all in support of their fourth studio release, self-titled Paramore.

After starting this tour back in February, this was to be a great homecoming for the band. There were plenty of friends and family in attendance, and of course thousands of eager fans waiting anxiously as a brief instrumental intro played through the speakers. A black curtain dropped and Paramore thrusted right into Grow Up, a track from their new record. All you could see were silhouettes of the band standing in front of three gigantic white bars that were lit up as bright as the sun. A Paramore “bars” logo, to be exact, which represents the main three members of the band who have been there from the beginning in 2004. Those three members are lead singer Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York, and bassist Jeremy Davis.

After the first song, Hayley knelt down to kiss the stage and then looked up as if to be thankful to be home and playing at the Bridgestone Arena. There were dozens of handmade signs all over the arena waving high in the air with the words “Welcome home!” written on them. Which seemed to spark a little bit of emotion from Hayley as she proceeded to thank everyone and expressed how happy she was to be home several times throughout the night.

To go along with the welcoming festivities, there were many other special moments as the show went on. There was a surprise marriage proposal by one of the band’s very close friends right in the middle of the song The Only Exception. To go along with the welcoming festivities, there were many other special moments as the show went on. There was a surprise marriage proposal by one of the band’s very close friends right in the middle of the song The Only Exception, ukulele interludes from the new album mixed in the set, Hayley’s sister and her high school choir sang on the song Ain’t It Fun, a fan from the crowd got to be on stage with Hayley and sing the last part of Misery Business, the famous Jeremy and Taylorflip” on Pressure, and to cap off the night, balloons and confetti during the finale song, Still Into You.

If I could sum up this concert in one word, it would most definitely be FUN. The energy that Hayley, Jeremy and Taylor bring to the stage is never-ending. Hayley Williams kept the crowd engaged all night and definitely impressed me as a frontwoman. This band just continues to grow and get better on every album, and they obviously put a lot of work into what they bring to a live show.

While this tour has ended for the U.S., Paramore will be playing 7 big radio shows this month here in the States. For tour dates, information about the PARAHOY! Cruise, or all things Paramore, please visit www.paramore.net
